One of the oldest and now one of the biggest art galleries in all of Tennessee. The Brooks Museum of Art is an impressive art museum only outdone by its outstanding collection of art. Founded in 1913, Brooks now owns more than 9000 pieces of art -- one of the biggest permanent collections in the country!
From paintings dating back centuries to sculptures and ornate antiquity from the days of royalty, Brooks Museum of Art has amassed an art collection from all over the world. Besides showcasing its impressive permanent collection, Brooks also sees numerous traveling exhibitions across various themes and artistry. Needless to say, when in Memphis, drop by Brooks Museum of Art for a fascinating art experience. Brooks is open Wednesday through Sunday (timings vary) and admission prices are $7 for adults, $6 for senior citizens and $3 for ages 17 and under.
